“Criação Teatral Volkswagen” (Volkswagen Theatrical Creation) boosted the Brazilian artistic scene, giving the opportunity to new talents of the national theater to discover, encourage, improve and help in their qualification.
With an innovative concept, the project created opportunities for independent actors and actresses to present their talent to the greatest names of Brazilian theater.
The contest was a success and was attended by artists from all Brazilian states. From 2003 to 2004, more than 900 groups attended the event. In the classification stage, a classic theater text was adapted by Antônio Abujamra, the artistic coordinator of the project, and all participants were challenged to interpret the theme with the same resources.
