The “Big Bands” project was conceived in 2012 in order to enhance the history of jazz in the country and offer free admission concerts to the public with the greatest musicians of the genre.

Under curatorship of Daniel Daibem, internationally renowned groups such as Mantiqueira Band and Mutrib (Gipsy Band focused on the Balkan and Eastern Mediterranean repertoire) were selected to perform a series of presentations at Via Funchal, in São Paulo.
